For families living alongside the Bukit Tigapuluh forests in Sumatra, getting a child to school isn't always simple. Poverty is a major barrier, and an empty belly is one of the biggest reasons kids don't show up.
But with your help, students at the Simerantihan Elementary School now have healthy meals waiting for them every day. Meals that nourish their bodies and their minds. With the promise of a meal, kids are more likely to walk through the school gate. When their bellies are full, they can focus, engage, and actually learn. And when they learn, doors open - to graduation, to better jobs, to brighter futures.

Students recently had their health checks, and the results are absolutely incredible.
- Children who were previously underweight are now showing healthy, positive weight gain.
- Students across all grade levels are now sitting in a healthy weight range.
This tells us something powerful: regular, healthy meals are helping maintain good nutrition for these kids, even when food at home is scarce.

Last semester, most students recorded attendance rates of 90-100%. For some grades, this was an improvement on the semester before.
Younger students in Grades 1-3 showed especially strong and stable attendance across both periods. A clear sign that the promise of a healthy meal is helping the littlest learners show up ready to learn, every single day.
